Our History

In 2012, accomplished designer Stephanie Wiott founded Cupboards Design Group, which focused on large remodels and kitchen renovations. As the demand for full-service interior design grew, Stephanie Wiott Designs was born. Now a growing team of six talented and friendly members, the SWD team works with each other, local builders, and clients to design, build, or remodel the home of their dreams.

Stephanie Wiott

Founder, Owner, Principal Designer

Stephanie Wiott has been designing for as long as she can remember and has been an integral part of the industry for over 20 years.  Raised in Chicago, she spent most of her career there focusing on major interior remodels, opening her first business in 2009.  Stephanie relocated to Carmel, IN in 2018 and founded Stephanie Wiott Designs, expanding the business into a full service interior design firm.  Stephanie quickly established herself and the SWD team as a leading design firm known for their clean, inviting and functional aesthetic. Stephanie's entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic have allowed the business to grow not only creatively, but in personnel as well, allowing the SWD team to take on projects both big and small. Their goal is to make every client home their dream home. Stephanie and her husband have a blended family of 4, ranging from ages from 10 to 28.  Their family and friends are at the heart of everything that they do, hence Stephanie's unique ability to create beautiful spaces that are family friendly and centered around the comfort of home, where all the best memories are made.  

Meet the Team

  • Chase Durham

    Lead Interior Designer

    Chase specializes in Interior Design Technology and Project Management. Her favorite aspects of Interior Design are: The new construction process, architectural elements, light fixtures, and most importantly creative freedom! Chase is from Indianapolis, Indiana and she holds a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from Purdue University. She previously interned with HGTV's show Good Bones, and she also was in the Army National Guard; graduating top 10% of her Battalion. Chase currently is the "OG" of the SWD team, having starting as an intern in 2020, before graduating and transitioning into a full time designer.

  • Jacqueline Stoll

    Director of Operations

    Jacqueline is driven by a passion for enhancing business efficiency and specializes in creative problem-solving to propel SWD's growth and success. She executes and oversees the non-artistic facets of the business fostering enhanced performance, efficiency, and profitability. Jacqueline holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Purdue University, where she proudly cheered on the all-girl team throughout her four-year tenure. This position is the perfect combination of her creative strengths and analytical skills. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her husband, Austin, and their dog, Minnie!

  • Debbie Kuikman

    Studio Manager

    Debbie, also known as Stephanie's mom, is a native of Chicago with 30 years of experience in the industry and brings an overall understanding of all aspects of the day to day business. Debbie helps run day to day operations of the showroom and takes care of all order expediting, vendor relations and customer service. In her free time, she enjoys time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

  • Shelby Bursott

    Shelby is passionate about transforming spaces into personalized expressions of beauty and functionality. With a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design Architecture from Purdue University-Indianapolis, Shelby brings a blend of creativity, artistry, and practicality to every project. She thrives on the creative blend of art, history, and practicality that defines interior design. Beyond design, Shelby is an avid thrifter, culinary enthusiast, and adventurous traveler, having studied abroad in Japan. At SWD, Shelby is excited to collaborate with clients to create exceptional spaces that inspire and delight.

  • Kim Denaway

    Kim is an innovative interior designer originally from the Granger, IN area. She is a graduate of Purdue University and received her Interior Design credentials through Ivy Tech, South Bend. She brings 7 years of experience in the Design industry transforming home interiors. Kim loves being a part of the new home construction and remodeling process. She enjoys the freedom to present unique design options and selections to create the aesthetic, functionality and practicality clients envision. Kim and her husband Matt enjoy spending time with their 2 adult children and dog Tito, in addition to trying new restaurants, attending concerts, kayaking and relaxing.Description goes here
